Boyd Coffee Company is celebrating 112 years in business in Portland by hosting an Open House from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, July 21, at the company’s Roastery and headquarters: 19730 NE Sandy Blvd., Portland OR 97230.
The event is free and open to the public. Attractions include free coffee, espresso drinks, iced tea and food; Roastery tours (a limited number of slots is available; sign up the day of the event); giveaways (while supplies last); and entertainment for the whole family. Children can enjoy a bouncy castle and a craft area. A drawing benefiting the Oregon Food Bank will offer the chance to win prizes.
“We’re inviting the public in for a behind-the-scenes peek at Boyds. We’re the Pacific Northwest’s longest-operating coffee company, and we’ll show materials from our early history to our latest innovations,” said Katy Boyd Dutt, Director of Tactical Marketing and great-granddaughter of the company’s founder. “People can meet our Roastmaster and other employees; enjoy free beverages; and learn about coffee, from how it’s grown to how to brew the best cup at home.”
The Open House falls on the last day of Boyds’ Sidewalk Sale, which will take place from July 16 to 21. The Sidewalk Sale will feature closeout merchandise, including mugs, coffee accessories, decorations and holiday items, as well as discounted commercial beverage equipment and accessories.
